How will you benefit from receiving Bob Marley’s one and only publicly owned guitar valued at $6.5 million USD? What would you do with it?

 

Guidelines

1. Online registrations are available at the Web site BobsGuitar.org. Mail-in registrations and information can also be found here.

2. Essays may be submitted by anyone 12 years old and up (as of May 31, 2020).

3. Minor registrants who are under 18 years of age must include a partner’s name who is their parent or guardian.

4. The $10 USD processing fee is equal to one essay registration only – no exceptions. Wristband registration is $15 USD plus shipping fees. Taxes may apply.

5. The Bobs Guitar Essay Challenge is divided into two ways: Online and Mail-in.

6. Essays must be original and unpublished. Plagiarized entries will be rejected.

7. Essays can be written by one person or co-authored.

8. Copyright of the essays entered will be assigned to the organizer of BobsGuitar.org.

9. If you have questions, please consult the Help Centre section.

10. Persons designated by BobsGuitar.org/Bobs Guitar are not eligible to participate by themselves, their immediate family members, or relatives whether residing with them or not including without limitation, essay registration, validating finalists or receiving an essay registration as a gift, and are not entitled to claim any awards in this Project.

 

Deadline

Entries must be received by May 31, 2020 (23:59 your local time).

 

Awards

The following awards will be given in each of the 10 different categories: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn,  Instagram, Youtube , Radio Station, Newspaper, Postal Mail, Talk Show, and Wristband.

Facebook finalist will be invited to the 1LuckyFan event to be held in Vancouver, Canada. They will be joined with a Facebook representative for the stage interview by the selection committee at the event. (Travel expenses will be covered by the organizer of BobsGuitar.org.) Date of the event will be announced on BobsGuitar.org.

Twitter finalist will be invited to the 1LuckyFan event to be held in Vancouver, Canada. They will be joined with a Twitter representative for the stage interview by the selection committee at the event. (Travel expenses will be covered by the organizer of BobsGuitar.org.) Date of the event will be announced on BobsGuitar.org.

LinkedIn finalist will be invited to the 1LuckyFan event to be held in Vancouver, Canada. They will be joined with a LinkedIn representative for the stage interview by the selection committee at the event. (Travel expenses will be covered by the organizer of BobsGuitar.org.) Date of the event will be announced on BobsGuitar.org.

Instagram finalist will be invited to the 1LuckyFan event to be held in Vancouver, Canada. They will be joined with a LinkedIn representative for the stage interview by the selection committee at the event. (Travel expenses will be covered by the organizer of BobsGuitar.org.) Date of the event will be announced on BobsGuitar.org.

Youtube finalist will be invited to the 1LuckyFan event to be held in Vancouver, Canada. They will be joined with a Youtube/Google representative for the stage interview by the selection committee at the event. (Travel expenses will be covered by the organizer of BobsGuitar.org.) Date of the event will be announced on BobsGuitar.org.

Radio station finalist will be invited to the 1LuckyFan event to be held in Vancouver, Canada. They will be joined with a radio station representative for the stage interview by the selection committee at the event. (Travel expenses will be covered by the organizer of BobsGuitar.org.) Date of the event will be announced on BobsGuitar.org.

Newspaper finalist will be invited to the 1LuckyFan event to be held in Vancouver, Canada. They will be joined with the newspaper representative for the stage interview by the selection committee at the event. (Travel expenses will be covered by the organizer of BobsGuitar.org.) Date of the event will be announced on BobsGuitar.org.

Talk Show finalist will be invited to the 1LuckyFan event to be held in Vancouver, Canada. They will be joined with the talk show representative for the stage interview by the selection committee at the event. (Travel expenses will be covered by the organizer of BobsGuitar.org.) Date of the event will be announced on BobsGuitar.org.

Wristband finalist will be invited to the 1LuckyFan event to be held in Vancouver, Canada. They will be joined with their charity representative for the stage interview by the selection committee at the event. (Travel expenses will be covered by the organizer of BobsGuitar.org.) Date of the event will be announced on BobsGuitar.org.

Mail-in finalist will be invited to the 1LuckyFan event to be held in Vancouver, Canada. They must bring one person with them for the stage interview by the selection committee at the event. (Travel expenses will be covered by the organizer of BobsGuitar.org). Date of the event will be announced on BobsGuitar.org.

 

Other Important Info

  • BOBS GUITAR is unable to answer individual inquiries concerning contest results.
  • Submissions received after closing date will not be returned.
  • Finalists will be announced on BobsGuitar.org and 1LuckyFan.org.
  • Finalists will be contacted by phone and/or email as provided in the registration within a week after the deadline. If for some reason, the finalist could not be contacted or would not be able to attend the event, another finalist will be chosen as their replacement.
  • Finalist must be available to attend and travel during the week of the 1LuckyFan event in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
  • By submitting your registration, you have agreed to the terms and guidelines, privacy policy and disclaimer of BobsGuitar.org.
  • No Wristband registration is accepted by mail.
  • No refunds for essay entries.

To send your essay online, you must go to the online registration page (Get Registered or Submit My Essay) and follow the required steps.

However, the Internet is a public network and there is the remote possibility of data security violations. In the event of such occurences, the BobsGuitar.org/Bobs Guitar is not responsible for any damages you may experience as a result.

 


Mail-in Essay Registration
POSTAL MAIL

 

To send your essay by postal mail, please follow the steps below.

  • Entries submitted by postal mail must include the following information indicating

(1) Essay title/theme
(2) Your name
(3) Phone number
(4) Your registered e-mail
(5) Country of residence
(6) Age as of May 31, 2020
(7) Parent or guardian’s name (if applicable)
(8) Word count
(9) Your essay

* No cover pages.
* Entries missing any of the above information will not be considered.
* We are unable to confirm receipt of Mail-in essays.

  • Must include US legal tender, certified cheques or money order of $10 payable to BOBS GUITAR with a note of “Essay Challenge” in the memo line. Certified foreign checks are accepted. All payments must be equivalent to $10 US dollars. No coins accepted. Mail-in registration fee is exempted from applicable taxes.
  • Essay submissions can be typed out or handwritten. Handwritten essays must be readable, neat and clean.
  • Must use standard 8.5 x 11 or A7 paper size and portrait format from printer.
  • Typed out essay submissions must be in the following conditions: (a) In regular business font such as Times New Roman or Arial at 12 point size and (b) single spaced (cover pages are not required).
  • All essays must be written or printed in 1 page and double-sided (back to back).
  • Please mail registration fee, and copy of your essay to:

  • Non-Responsibility: The BobsGuitar.org/Bobs Guitar shall have no liability for loss or damage of mail-in essays containing any types of monetary payments such as banknotes, certified cheques, money order etc.

 

Essay Registrations

You are responsible for reading the complete Terms and Guidelines, Privacy Policy and Disclaimer of the Web site before making a commitment to register your essay. When registering your essay, you are entering into a binding contract with the Project organizer to register those Essays. Additional terms communicated to you by the Project organizer may apply. Payment is processed through Paypal and disbursed to the Project organizer. All Registrations are final. You cannot change or cancel any entries after the registration is complete except for contact information update.

Taxes

The Project organizer is responsible for collecting and remitting any sales, use, excise, value added, service and other indirect taxes that are due with any essay registration, event ticket, and merchandise. Any applicable taxes must be included in the fee or price.

 

Site Changes and Availability

BobsGuitar.org/Bobs Guitar reserves the right at any time to modify or discontinue, temporarily, the Web site, the project or any part of the Web site or Project with or without notice for any reason. BobsGuitar.org/Bobs Guitar performs regularly-scheduled maintenance to better serve the participants of this Project. While we do our best to avoid project impact, the Web site or our Project may be temporarily unavailable during maintenance periods.
